Converting a Stormcast Eternal into a Space Marine - Painted
After a small hobby break, I have put some paint onto my conversion/kit-bash this week past.
With all my Minotaurs, I follow my tried and tested recipe.
Black Primer, base-coat followed by a layer of Warplock Bronze (picture not shown). Next I painted a layer of Brazen Brass followed by a wash of my custom made verdigris mix. Lastly a drybrush of Brazen Brass to bring out the highlights and create the shading.
I then painted all the details, the other metal areas were a base of Leadbelcher with a highlight of Mithral Silver, the reds a base of Scab Red followed by a highlight of Mephiston Red. The shield I left mostly Warplock Bronze. The leather is a base of Dark Brown and highlight of Beastial Brown.
I know I am naming some old GW paint names but that's how I remember them.
Here are the rest of the finished pictures, enjoy.

Converting a Stormcast Eternal into a Space Marine
I got a free Stormcast Eternal with my purchase of the 'Getting Started with Warhammer age of Sigmar', which is a great publication hearkening back to GW's good old days. The thing is what to do with a single miniature if you don't play Age of Sigmar.
The obvious is to convert or kitbash it into something else. I did some research, looking at cool pictures on the web of conversions..ha-ha, and decided to add a cool sergeant/captain to my Minotaurs Army, although to be fair it will fit into my Blood Angels Army just as well.
I began by assembling the miniature (except shield arm) then proceeded to cut off the hammer, shoulder pads and arms thereafter. Next was to glue the shield to the shield-arm.
Now the best part, deciding what to add:
I chose a suitable weapon, in this case a Blood Angels sword then glued it to the weapon arm, next was a Chaos backpack (Chaos icons filed off) which looks better than the loyalist Marines because it has more height. I added two nice Minotaur shoulder pads from Forge World and a head from Puppets War. I also added a pistol, grenades and extra armour from a Terminator to the mid section. Last was to add some Brass etched bits to the shield, also from Forge World, to complete the transformation.
Some personal notes:
As mentioned earlier, I had to cut off the arms completely, then re-position with some green-stuff to be able to fit the shoulder pads so they look natural. It may have been better to use a space marine torso.
I think the proportions of the Stormcast Eternal are more realistic as the model of a space marine's legs are too short for the rest of the body.
I am looking forward to painting this miniature very much.

40k - Minotaurs - Multi Melta Conversion - Painted
After priming the model in black I then base-coat with Warplock Bronze. Next I painted a layer of Brazen Brass followed by a generous wash of Coelia Greenshade.
I then applied a drybrush of Brazen Brass followed by a wash of my custom made verdigris mix. Lastly a drybrush of Brazen Brass and finish off with the details.
I am happy with the final product and will be working on the next model as I have one more to use.

Minotaurs 40k - Assault Marines - Badab War - Finished
All that was left for me to do was to add highlights to the shoulder pads and finish off the details like the scrolls and eyes to complete the models.
My Minotaurs are growing with each of these squads and my problem is thinking of what to add next??
It is nearly Xmas and a Forge World set of Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi would be a fantastic addition to lead my army.
Hope you like theses guys.

Minotaurs 40k - Assault Marines - Badab War - WIP
I have bits from a box of Death Company, Grey Knights and Sanguinary Guard that I used to make up my 5 Assault Marines with Jump Packs, finished off with more Forge World shoulder pads.
As with all my Minotaurs I primed the models black then base coated with Tin Bitz.
Next I painted a good coat of Brazen Brass followed by a generous wash of my custom made verdigris mix.
Lastly I dry brushed Brazen Brass again to finish off the armour.
I then painted in all the base colours of the details.
So far looking good, finished article coming up next.

Minotaurs - Terminators with Thunder Hammers - Badab War - Finished
Finished all the details finally. Again the pictures don't show the contrast as well as I would like, you cant see the different red layers on the shoulder pads and Bull heads for instance. The photo quality aside they came out very nicely and my Minotaur Army is looking good!
Here is a picture of the Squad Leader. I used freehand to paint the small symbol (upside down V) on for a nice touch of detail. I also like the darker metal on the Thunder Hammer heads as a contrast. I love the Forge World Shoulder pads!
Here are the rest of the pictures.
My army now consists of:
2 Tactical Squads, 1 Scout Squad, 1 Biker Squad, 1 Dreadnought, 2 Terminator Squads, 1 Rhino and 1 Landraider.
I am now officially out of models to paint for this army. I want some Assault Marines for sure, probably a Devastator Squad, Predator a Veteran Squad and some Heroes to lead them all!
Let me know what you would like to see next and maybe it will help me decide as well..lol
Enjoy

Managed to paint some of the base colours of the details.
Will be layering them next with some highlights and applying washes for shading.
Small update but time has been short this last week for hobby.

Minotaurs - Terminators with Thunder Hammers - Badab War - WIP
I have been meaning to paint these guys for a long time now and finally I have. First off I purchased the shields from Scibor Miniatures and while I am not the first to do this I think they fit perfectly with the Minotaurs theme.Secondly I purchased the Forge World Minotaur shoulder pads which I also think are outstanding.
I have primed the models in black then base coated with Tin Bitz.
Next I painted a good coat of Brazen Brass followed by a generous wash of my custom made verdigris mix.
Lastly I dry brushed Brazen Brass again to finish off the armour.
Next up the details.

Minotaurs - Terminators with Lightning Claws - Badab War - Finished
All I had to do was finish off the shoulder pads and some scrolls and the eyes.
I love these Forge World Pads because of the amazing detail. I decided to paint the base red then the Terminator Crux in a Bone finish with the Minotaur symbol in Brass / Bronze.
Same for the other side minus the Minotaur symbol.
I am really pleased with the way they have turned out. Next on the list will be the Terminators with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields!

Minotaurs - Terminators with Lightning Claws - Badab War - WIP
With all the excitement of the Horus Heresy releases and me getting into the Flames of War Open Fire starter set I have neglected my personal 40k army, my beloved Minotaurs!
These Terminators have been languishing in my 'to do box' for well over a year now, cant believe its been that long! As you can see they are the models from the Assault on Black Reach box set with the arms chopped off and converted to Lightning Claws from an Ebay purchase. The finishing touch is the addition of the brilliant Forge World Minotaur shoulder pads.
To start I primed the models in black then painted a thinned down coat of black paint to get a nice overall finish. My base coat was Tin Bitz ( see top picture ).
Next was a coat of Brazen Brass.
I washed the entire model with Coelia Green.
Then dry-brushed with Brazen Brass.
I painted the 'white' metal areas in black and the other details in Scorched Brown.
Now all I need to do is finish the details and they should be ready to join their battle brothers.

Minotaurs - Land Raider - Badab War - Finished
Taking pictures of this big model proved tricky so apologies if they are not the best. The bronze is highly reflective and the size means you should have a greater depth of field which I didn't get so some bits are out of focus.
A couple of extra shots.
With this completed the only models I still have waiting for their paint job is my Terminators! so stay tuned as they will make an appearance soon (I hope).
