Italeri 1/72 Scale WW2 German PAK 36 Showcase

While I had my terrain Bocage and Planted Field pieces out I decided to take a few pictures to showcase my World War 2 (1:72 scale) models so far.

This is the Pak36 lying in ambush for an unsuspecting Sherman to try and cross the field.

Italeri 1/72 scale WW2 German PAK 36 Finished

After the model was painted I made the base from plastic card cut to size then primed with the grey followed by a coat of dark brown paint. I then painted the base with white glue and added ground black pepper, when that was dry I added a few spots of white glue then added some oregano herbs for the final touch.

I like the natural effect of this combination and the fact that it requires no painting is a great advantage.

Here are the rest of the pictures.

Italeri 1/72 scale WW2 German PAK 36

The next model in this amazing set is the Pak 36. At the start of the war this was an effective anti tank gun however by mid war it was woefully inadequate and got the nickname Heeresanklopfgerät (literally "army door-knocking device").

I started with my usual grey primer.

Then followed with Middlestone base colour.

Then a heavy brown / black wash.

 Next the crew.

Followed by the same wash for the crew and drybrush of Bone to highlight the gun.

Next the finished model.
