Minotaurs - Dreadnought - Badab War
Next unit to be inducted into my Minotaurs army is the mighty Dreadnought. I cleaned this guy up with Dettol as he was painted up in my Aurelius Legion brass and black colour scheme. After cleaning I primed him with black primer and gave him a thinned down coat of black paint. Next was a coat of Tin Bitz followed by Brazen Brass and a Thraka Green wash, next up a dry brush of Brazen Brass again followed by a wash of my own mix of Verdigris wash. Another drybrush of Brazen Brass to finish off the armour. I then painted the red parts of the armour with a base of Scab Red followed by a layer of Red Gore. The details like scroll work etc was given a Scorched Brown base coat. ( picture above )
Here I have base coated the mechanical parts with Boltgun Metal as well as some details that are metal but not armour.
The one thing I did decide to do was paint the feet and Claw / Fist Red, I think it gives the Dread a bit more of a nasty look. What do you guys think yes / no?
More to follow.
Vitor.

Looks good Vitor, I like the red feets it makes the dread look a bit different.
ReplyDeleteIts great to read and see how you paint your minotaurs, it's different from mine and this way I can get some new ideas to use my self.
Keep it up!
Very cool! I am working on some verdigris brass for a project and I'm going to be trying your method, I really like how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
